Notes:     Very rare Ex Numismatic Fine Arts XXVII (4 December 1991), lot 57.Kekrops was a snakelike being who was the mythical first king of Athens; his name became synonymous with Attica. He is credited with introducing writing and customs in Athens. This small gem of a coin has a perfectly shaped flan for the design, so well executed in a series with few truly remarkable obverse types.
